Core Values

Below are some of the guiding beliefs about our core identity and how we should live together as Jesus' followers in the world now.  We all desire to worship, learn, and live together in a way that promotes the good news of Jesus because…

  • We understand the Bible as the one true grand-story which is centered on Jesus and shapes our perspective on our purpose.

  • We share a common identity from house-to-house, across neighborhoods and throughout networks in following Jesus as a family of families.

  • Jesus is the focus of all we do and how we should live.  He is in charge of all creation now and has invited us to follow Him, living in the same sacrificial manner, by which he became king.

  • We need to learn to think together in the timeless first principles Jesus passed on to His new family so that we can live skillfully ourselves and shape our households and simple churches around them.

  • We share a common purpose together as part of a network of strong benefactor communities (local churches and church networks) growing locally and multiplying globally which is what it means to make disciples or multiply gatherings of Jesus.

  • We honor the history of those who have gone before us since our founding in 1889, and all that we are and do is grounded in the plan of Christ that unfolded in the first century just as God promised and which is evidenced in the New Testament writings of the Apostle’s generation; which need to be revisited afresh in every generation and lived out within and for the surrounding culture.
