Leadership

Sodality-Modality Concept
This describes the two types of leadership we have in our network of simple churches. One type that functions mainly within the context of a local church and one which functions across and among numerous local churches, and networks of churches.

Modality Leaders
Leaders with a focus on a specific local church or cluster of churches, but who also participate with and remain engaged in the global work. This includes leaders who function as elders, deacons and leading women. These leaders are recognized for their faithfulness and success in their own households, and are appointed by Sodal leaders for the purpose of strengthening the churches and maintaining the order Jesus prescribed. As new church plants emerge and take shape , it is critical that an elder couple is part of that process.

Sodality Leaders
Leaders with a focus on the national and global work, who reside with and remain engaged in a local church situation. These leaders are responsible for equipping the saints for the work of the ministry, and have been gifted by God for this work (Eph. 4:11). These leaders also carry the vision and responsibility for our expansion by planting and multiplying simple home-based churches. These leaders may be called to vocational work, which would require the backing of the church they are engaged with and a willingness and skill for tentmaking.
